Behind the Scenes | Friday Jan 28, 2011
On Tuesday I took my top choirs to the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts for a musical theater masterclass by Theater Under the Stars. They had an hour choreography session with the staff and then got a behind the scenes tour of the building. If you visit my personal blog then you know I am a musicals fanatic and I am giddy when we do this tour.
On the walls are posters of shows that have come through the building since it opened in 2002 (I was at the opening celebration). Each poster is signed by the cast. We also got to see dressing rooms, the wardrobe room and go onto the stage and see the viewpoint of the performers. And I finally got to take a picture of the ceiling which you aren't allowed to do during performances. Theater Under the Stars started at an outdoor park in the 1960s and has carried that theme with them throughout the years. It was a wonderful day and I can't wait to go back next year.
