This Week: Millennium Park
Millennium Park was one of my two favorite places in Chicago. By happy circumstance I ended up there every day of my trip. Luckily my hotel was only three blocks from the park so that helped. Every area of the park was fascinating, but I know if I lived in Chicago I would spend a lot of time in Lurie Gardens. The garden is a 5 acre perennial garden surrounded on two sides by a 15 foot hedge and entered on one side by a foot bridge over a water feature. I felt such a sense of peace wandering around looking at all the plants and hearing nothing of the city. It reminded me of the magical maze in Harry Potter that you enter and the world fades away.
