Mural Tomatoes | Monday Jan 31, 2011
The month of January was red month for me. The goal was to photograph red things. It was harder than I thought it would be. I seemed to see photo opportunities all around for yellow or green or blue, which are coming later in the year, but not red. I'm sure when those months get here I won't remember all the ideas I had this month. It did get me to look at things in a new way and that was the goal so I count it a success.
I'm still unsure which photos I'm putting here and which are going on Flickr, but there is no doubt that this one is at the top of my list for my red project for January. This is from a mural on a restaurant in downtown Houston. I would never have composed it this way if I hadn't been specifically looking to fill the frame with red.
